📝 Information Pollution and You

Information overflow. Information noise. Information pollution.

The air feels thick, saturated with so much data that your brain waves can’t keep up.

It’s incessant and constant. Like being barraged by snowballs in an overly enthusiastic snowball fight.

After all, we live in the information age. And one of the ramifications is just this, information taking up most of the space in your day and in your consciousness.

Do you even have room left to think your own thoughts throughout the day anymore?

There are those whose minds were blank even before the onset of the information flood. Good for them, really. They can weather any storm of our age, information or otherwise.

But if you’re the thinking type, then things sure do not seem easy without some additional preparation and precaution in place.

In your mind, try to picture information as water. Under normal circumstances, you wouldn’t drink anything murky, unusually thick, funny-smelling, yellow, brown, or otherwise suspicious. Generally, it wouldn’t do you any good. Nobody is stopping you, of course, but in this case being judicious pays.

Keep your drinking water clean and your state of mind will follow. It helps with the pollution. Provided you can still find that clean water, of course. Every now and then, run it through a good filter. At least thrice.

Oh, and you also need to have that filter to begin with.
